Oh, sure Bill, that's logical thinking for you, ruining everybody's fun....
:o)
I did some googling today looking at advertising blimps ("small" ones)
and learned to lift a 6 pound payload, which would be about one
paintball gun on a swivel with air tank and paintballs (and RC receiver,
batteries, and electric prop motors) - takes a blimp about the size of
a chevrolet suburban. There is no shortage of blimp companies
out there that would love to sell you one for around $3,000 dollars,
customized artwork is extra though. Sigh...I'll stick with ground
vehicles.

The problem with using aircraft is that it would be unfair to the tankers
if they can't shoot at it, and it would be the height of stupidity to
actually shoot back. An unlucky shot could jam control surfaces or
destabilize the plane outright. If that happens, the plane would be coming
down in a field crowded with soft, squishy, easily dismembered people.
Yes, it would be cool to see bombing runs and such. But I feel that the
risk involved far outweighs the benefits.
