He rebuilt that thing (actually built another one, salvaging the expensive
jet engines) and the second model actually crashed on its maiden flight.
Those
B-52's just cannot take certain banking maneuvers, full-scale or model
sized.
There are videos on the web of his crash pictures, also some very cool
ones of his plane doing fly-bys- the engines sound awesome.
