I'm still working on the s.I.G. 33 piece of field artillery. I've attached a couple of pics to show the progress.
The body is nearly complete. The side rails are done and the front shield recently went on. Just for fun, a new coat of paint was sprayed on it. I have a set of mock-hydraulics to add, but need to wait until the barrel assembly gets installed before putting it all together.
The second pic is the rim and wheel assembly that I'm working on. I really liked the raised and recessed look of these wheels, so I spend some considerable time trying to reproduce that. The end result is a steel disk with cutouts. The raised and recessed parts are made by splitting a piece of steel pipe down the length of it. The center hub is a 4-inch piece of steel pipe. I hope to have this all welded together and ground clean by the end of this weekend.
Following the wheels, I'll be ready for the electronics and will get to work on making this thing move. As for controls, I've decided on the C6C option.
