Chatten Associates
painted the Hetzer during summer 2004 for a more
professional appearance. Although the grey color scheme
is not historically correct, it looks great. (The Wehrmacht
stopped using
Panzer Grey primer
in January 1943 and Hetzers were not produced until April
1944).

Two 24V Makita drill motors were installed using the same
Anvilus SSR proportional speed controller to provide 5 mph
top speed.

|
|
|
|
Thanks to Jim Pate for providing these photos of an authentic re-conditioned
Hetzer that was on display in Texas. As can be seen in the lower photo,
the Hetzer is a very low-profile vehicle, making it a formidable opponent.
