Eleventh Naval Combat Fleet

Stuart, FL.

The Eleventh Naval Combat Fleet (ENCF) was formed in the summer of '99 for the purpose of sponsoring a forum for individuals interested in getting started in the hobby of model warship combat. The Eleventh Naval Combat Fleet (ENCF), which is affiliated with both the IR/CWCC and MWC Inc., , builds and battles WW I and WWII 1/144th scale R/C model warships armed with low-velocity CO2 powered BB cannons. After attending the IR/CWCC '99 Spring Regional, hosted by the Maryland Attack Group (MAG), , I returned home to find that the nearest combat group in New York was over one hundred and fifty miles away. At that time no other "combat group" existed in Upstate New York so I decided to form one. So, on July 7th, 1999, The Eleventh Naval Combat Fleet (ENCF) became the first affiliated group of the International Radio Controlled Warship Combat Club (IR/CWCC) in Upstate New York. Early in the Spring of 2000, a change in my personal and professional life required me to move to another state. Since July 2, 2000, Fleet Headquarters has been relocated to Stuart, Florida. Although Fleet Headquarters are in Florida, the original Naval Combat Squadrons in Upstate New York still exist to this day. Since I have been living in Florida for a while, I have found enough people who are interested in the hobby that I began to consider joining the MWC Inc. club also. Most of the members of MWC, Inc. are in the Mid-west , Central and Southern states so, in the interest of the hobby and maintaining the "Fleet" as a whole, I decided to join both Clubs.

Since before I left New York State, one of the things foremost on my mind was how I personally could promote the hobby of model warship combat. I considered that since I called my combat group A "Fleet", it should be comprised of many "Naval Combat Squadrons". The Eleventh Naval Combat Fleet (ENCF) promotes the hobby by sponsoring and supporting new "Naval Combat Squadrons" throughout the country. Those individuals wishing to get started in model warship combat and do not have a local "combat group" near them would do well in contacting The Eleventh Naval Combat Fleet. Fathers as well as their sons have long been attracted to the hobby, not only for it's historical aspect, but because it is such good fun! The Fleet recognizes this and has incorporated a sub-organization within the Fleet called the Rookie Officer Training Command (ROTC) . Those interested in competing in the hobby of model warship combat can build any ship, either Battleships, Cruisers, Destroyers, or Submarines as long as they comply with the construction rules. The rules are provided to members so that no one single ship has an advantage over another and so that the members can enjoy an annual national competition on a even footing.
